The Composer's notes on "Father, Rebuild Your Temple"

Thank you for your interest in this vocal work that is very special to me. Why did I write, "Father, Rebuild Your Temple?" I have known Gershon Salomon, Chairman of "The Temple Mount And Land Of Israel Faithful Movement" for several years. Whenever he and his wife, Naomi, come to our church to speak, my husband and I have the honor of hosting them in our home. His testimony is that his G-d, The G-d of Abraham, the G-d of Isaac, and the G-d of Jacob, spoke to him and gave him the assignment of seeing the third temple built on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem; Mount Moriah! He believes with all of his heart that this will happen and gives all of his effort to it. It is his life's work. He heard the Word that the L-rd spoke to him, and is obeying!

We have been to Israel many times, and each time we visit the Western Wall where the Jews go to pray. This is as close as they are allowed to go to the location where the Temple, and therefore, the very presence of G-d had physically rested on the earth. They (and we also as Christians) are not permitted on the Temple Mount, the very place that G-d was speaking of in II Chronicles 7:15 & 16 when He said:

"Now My eyes shall be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place. For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that My name may be there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually."

I join Gershon and all of the Jewish people who pray at the wall,

Father, Rebuild Your Temple.
