This very title identifies that the land and people of Israel are extremely important to G-d. As the people were about to enter the land for the first time (having spent forty years in the wilderness) Moses told them "the land into which you are about to cross to possess it, a land of hills and valleys, drinks water from the rain of heaven, a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it..." This album rejoices in G-d's goodness, mercy, and election. Everyone in the world who loves G-d and, therefore, rejoices in His goodness and faithfulness will thoroughly enjoy this album.

Dichterliebe (German - "A Poet's Love") was written in 1840 by Robert Schumann and is the best-known song cycle by the composer. The texts for the sixteen songs come from the Lyrisches Intermezzo of Heinrich Heine, which he composed 1822–1823 and published as part of the poet's Das Buch der Lieder. This recording features tenor James F. Wingerter, Minister of Music for Fellowship Church. James received a Bachelor of Music Education degree with emphasis on Vocal Performance from Florida State University in 1978. He then furthered his studies with famous Helden Baritone Randolph Symonette and was further coached by his wife, Lys Bert Symonette. Later he also studied under "Tenor Extraordinaire" - Louis Roney in the tradition of Vincenzo Bellini. James initiated a singing career, performing numerous leading roles but chose to forgo the fame and fortune for family. His in-depth study of Dichterliebe was during his time with Randolph and Lys Symonette.

Im wunderschönen Monat Mai
Aus meinen Tränen sprießen
Die Rose, die Lilie, die Taube, die Sonne
Wenn ich in deine Augen seh
Ich will meine Seele tauchen
Im Rhein, im heiligen Strome
Ich grolle nicht
Und wüßten's die Blumen, die kleinen
Das ist ein Flöten und Geigen
Hör' ich das Liedchen klingen
Ein Jüngling liebt ein Mädchen
Am leuchtenden Sommermorgen
Ich hab' im Traum geweinet
Allnächtlich im Traume
Aus alten Märchen winkt es
Die alten, bösen Lieder
